Kayaking in Hvítá

DAILY DEPARTURES FROM MAY – SEPTEMBER

Our partners have decades of rafting experience and will keep things safe as you raft Hvítá, one of the big glacial rivers in Iceland. It will be wet and wild and, at the same time, a unique opportunity to enjoy the land’s beauty from a totally different perspective. Feel the river’s force as it carries you through the canyon shaped in centuries with the same forces. You will undoubtedly get wet, and your adrenaline will kick in. Rafting in Hvítá has been practised since 1985 and is popular among locals. Participants must be at least 16 years old to ride the kayak. For those from 11-16 years old we recommend the rafting adventure.

Hvítá is one of the big glacial rivers in Iceland. It has been rafted since 1985. It’s classified as a 2+ rafting river, easily or moderately accessible for most people. You should be at the Drumbó base camp to meet your guide at least 15 minutes before your tour starts at 11:00 in the morning or 15:00 in the afternoon.

Note: Hvítá is in the heart of the Golden Circle area. You can ride the river on your road trip before or after visiting the waterfall Gullfoss and the hot spring area Geysir.

You can also book including transfer and be picked up in the Reykjavík area.
