Dry Suit Course
If you are a certified diver lacking the dry suit experience this could be the one for you. Why not learn the skills needed to dive the cold waters of the north while in Iceland?
In this PADI speciality course you will learn a new set of skills. Such as how to control your bouyancy inflating and deflaiting your dry suit instead of the BCD. How to get air out of your boots so you don’t risk floating up with legs first!
You will be safe in the hands of an experienced PADI instructor. The course is held daily by a 5-star PADI dive centre. A minimum of 2 divers are needed for the course to take place. Please get in touch with us, even if you are alone, as we may be able to pair you with another student.
Note that this course does not take place in Silfra since only dry suit certified divers are allowed to dive there. However, you can take it all the way booking the two day option and you will be diving in Silfra on the second day as a certified dry suit diver.
Please be aware that dry suit diving is physically very demanding in the comparison to wet suit diving. The course includes multiple dives in cold waters and will bring your diving skills to another level. You will understand why the nordic divers sometimes, as a tease, nickname the tropical once cocktail divers.
The minimum requirement to take part in this course is PADI Open Water certification or an equivalent certification from another scuba program. Before you come to Iceland you should complete the online E-learing part. The course consist of a confined water session (swimming pool) and two open water dry suit dives.
